On CB, you can cut the power down, and this would be legal. As a ham radio, 10M works well, with the capability of all modes. I've not made any contacts on it yet - partly due to lack of activity, and mostly down to the fact that i wipe out our TV and radio on 11/10m on either antenna even with 2 watts! (strange that i can use 100w on any other bands without any problems at all.have just ordered a low pass filter to see if this helps)ĭid hear a station in Puerto Rico on Sunday morning very weakly for a couple of minutes on the 8900/loft dipole so it definitely works.īeing used to a "normal" tuning system, i found the 10KHz steps, then clarifier to tune between a bit frustrating, which is why i have set mine up in 2.5KHz steps on the 10m band - less clarifier twiddling needed, BUT i have had to sacrifice some of the band - not a major issue as there are huge chunks of 10m that are simply not needed on this type of radio IMHO. The receive seems pretty sensitive - put it this way, on 27.555, it can receive better on my loft dipole than my TS480SAT does on my outdoor random wire! That was a pleasant surprise. Well, i have spent a few hours programming this how i want it set up, and can report that it is easy enough to do, if a little tedious.why no copy & paste available in the software?
